July 19, 2018 - Moving Along and Having a Good Time
The seat back was removed from the mold today. It is quite strong but flexible enough to yield to any necessary fastening. Next, the seat back was trimmed to fit the seat bottom template.Once that was done, the actual seat bottom was constructed and shaped to its final outline. The seat back will be shaped as well in the near future. (See the slideshow below)
We also sanded the top of the hull, filled staple holes and minor blemishes, and are nearly ready for a final sanding before applying a coat of epoxy to the entire surface. I think it is fair to say that we are near to entering the final stage of construction of the Flyer. I hope I have not jinxed things with that statement!
