June 27, 2018 - Drive Components and Seat Back

The engine for the Flyer has been completely restored and is in working order. Mike has been the lead for the rebuild and has produced an incredible result for his efforts. Recall that this engine saw its first use in the 1930's and has been out of service for decades. See it in operation in the video that follows the slideshow.

The mold for the seat back was completed on Wednesday. It is now ready for the cold-molding process. The seat back will be made up of two layers of mahogany strips oriented crosswise and surrounding a layer of 1/4 inch bendable plywood, a product well-suited for this mold. The mold itself is shown in the slideshow below.
