A flight of resident Canada Geese is approaching its landing zone in Clear Creek near downtown Golden. The creek, a tributary of the South Platte River, passes through Golden after exiting Clear Creek Canyon in the Rockies on its way to the eastern plains. In these photos, the creek is frozen in areas but free flowing otherwise providing winter habitat for these geese.
